Boston, capital of Massachusetts, is of course, well-known for The Boston Tea Party, Paul Revere, and the Boston Massacre. Home to that irrepressible "red line" on the sidewalk, known as The Freedom Trail, that will lead one to many of the major historical sites in Boston. We all want to see and learn how our wonderful country began and of the people and places that have remained forever in seasoned years of our country.
Howsoever, there are many other places of interest, not necessarily historical...like in Dedham, located on Boston's southwest border...there are many points of interest and wonder like The Museum of Bad Art (MOBA). I had no idea that there could be such a place for bad art other than in the privacy of one's own home; but, a museum, where it is displayed? For all to see? The museum's motto is "Art too bad to be ignored".

Its most famous collection is "Lucy in the Field with Flowers", which was spotted in a dumpster in Boston by the museum's founder.
I am not much of an artist and I most assuredly would not want my attempts displayed; but, I must say the collection displayed for the public is quite interesting...whether one has an eye for art or not.
The Museum of Bad Art (www.museumofbadart.org) is located at 580 High Street, Dedham Community Theater. Telephone: 617-325-8224.
Even if you are a connoisseur, take the time...you will not be disappointed. If anything, it may illuminate one's mind. Trust me.
While you are inside Interstate 95 at the 128 Beltway, be sure to make a stop at the Fairbanks House, an historic home built around 1636. It is the oldest surviving timber-frame house in North America. Through-out the years it has been expanded due to the times and family life itself. It is quite remarkable to realize that it has been there so long like no other house of the mid-17th century in New England, which has survived in such an unconscionably unspoiled condition.
There is a lot of history here; but for me, I had to go back to the museum.
